How to enable Advanced Screenshot Block and Watermark

There are two security protection features that can be enabled - screenshot block only or screenshot block with watermark.

  1. Begin by selecting the option for creating new mail in Outlook or composing a message in Gmail.
  2. Click the Document GPS orange paperclip that replaces the old, insecure, and traditional way of attaching documents. This action will launch the Upload Files screen.
  3. To upload the file that requires a screenshot block, simply drag & drop it to the upload files box or browse for the file from your computer.

4.  Once the document has been uploaded, enable screenshot block on the document by clicking on the "lock" icon as shown in the image below.

If you wish to enable the watermark feature together with the screenshot block, tick on "Show Watermark" before clicking on continue. As a result, the option to download  the watermarked document will be automatically disabled, ensuring that recipients cannot download it.

  • Upon opening the document, the recipient will encounter a pop-up message requiring their consent to continue.

"The document owner has blocked the possibility of content copying for this document. To view the document, please confirm that you will not be taking screenshots, photos or any other copies of document content."

  • After the recipient grants their consent, they will be able to view the document (but will not have the option to share and download it), which will appear in a format similar to the one displayed below:

  • As the document owner, you have the ability to monitor any screenshot attempts made by recipients using the Document GPS extension. In the Library, simply click on the three-dot menu associated with the document and select the Document GPS option to access this feature.
